Bonfire night!

So here in the UK we have "Bonfire Night" ^_^
Its on the 5th of November and celebrates the death of a man who tried to take down government.
We have big bonfires, and fireworks, everyone eats hot dogs, chilly, and plays with sparklers.
It tends to be villages will gather bits of wood and old sofas, and build a bonfire in a field. The kids will build a man who sits on top. This is Guy Fawkes.

Last year, me and my boyfriend went to a fireworks display, and ate burgers stood beside a beautiful castle with pretty colourful sparks in the air. I'm not sure what we will do this year :(

Happy bonfire night everyone!

What to do with my life

I have an illness called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Its also known as ME...
I've had it since I was 13 years old, and it sucks. It really does.
Its a stupid illness because you don't always look ill. You may appear to be perfectly fine when in reality your suffering. I've had problems with concentration, memory, muscle pains, sleep disturbances, dizziness and balance, fatigue, joint pain, headaches, decreased mental and physical endurance, weight change, word retrieval problems (forgetting the right word), poor circulation and numerical difficulties...
That's a pretty big list of symptoms!
CFS has pretty much ruined my teenage years, I missed so  much school, and have jumped from course to course in college, having to give up because I've had a relapse, and ended up stuck in bed again.
Enough is enough.
I've had it with this illness. I want to do something with my life instead of floating around bored and in pain. The only problem is, if I push myself, I'll be back in bed in no time. So I have to do this thing called 'Pacing'. A little bit extra every day to build up my strength.
I always wanted to work with video games and be a concept artist. I've found a course that's perfect for me. There are however a couple of problems. I'm to late to start this year, so I'll be 22 amongst 16-18 year old people, which isn't so bad, but it does make me feel rather old :( Aaaaaand its miles away! My boyfriend travels there once a week for his mechanic course, and it tires him out. So if its tiring someone like him out, then what chance do I, a CFS sufferer have with having to go 5days a week! All I know is I want to do it. I have to do something!
Who knows, maybe over the next year I'll be able to pace myself to healthy :P
Wish me luck!

Photoshop Skin How to!

As promised! A tutorial on how to get "perfect" skin on photoshop!

Here's the original picture, as you can see I have freckles and a spot on my chin :(

Step 1: Make a couple of duplicates of the image and select the top layer.

Step 2: Go to filter "blur" and then "Gaussian Blur"...

You need to get the image blurry like this ^. There should be a slider to change the blur ^_^

Step 3: You need to create a layer mask. That's the little symbol in the red circle. Then with the layer mask selected (that little black box... it should be white) you need to invert it. Hold Ctrl and I and the box will turn black. The photo won't be blurry any more.

Step 4: Make sure your brush is around 10-20 opacity and the hardness is all the way down.

Then paint over the skin, the more layers you paint with the brush the more the blur will show. This will make the skin look quite plastic. You can stop there, but if you want it to look realistic there's a few more simple steps.

Step 5: Drag a duplicate layer over the one you've just been working on.

You need to emboss it. That's in filter / Stylize ...

Then go to filter "smart sharpen" and make the image look grainy. Your photo will be grey so you need to bring the colour back...

Step 6: Change the little banner on the layers to "soft light", this will bring the colour back. But your face will look grainy...

Step 7: Layer mask again, and hold Ctrl and I to invert it.

Step 8: Paint over the skin gently with your brush tool again around opacity 10-20. The plastic look on the skin will fade, and be replaced by fake pours. This makes the image look more realistic, and natural.

There you have it! Perfect looking skin! You need to merge the layers / flatten image, and then you can add make-up, to darken your eye-liner and so on ^_^

Tattooed ladies

I adore tattoos, I think they are absolutely beautiful. They tell a story, even if they don't have a meaning or a purpose. I'm tattooed, and plan on being as tattooed as this sexy lady above ^_^

I plan on getting a chest piece next. I've got the design, it just needs some tweaking. Its of a human heart with a star in the centre, it has feathers on either side and some stars. I want it all in red and black ^_^

I love pictures of tattooed women. I think they're really sexy on the ladies! I know a few people who hate tattoos, and think they're only for sailors or something haha. I on the other hand think that tattoos are for anyone.

I want to train as a tattooist because my life pretty much revolves around them these days. I'm always trolling the web for designs and pictures and ideas. I'm always drawing them too ^_^

Around this area there aren't many tattooists. Finding an apprenticeship is hard. I plan to learn to pierce too, because if I can pierce I'm more likely to get a tattooing apprenticeship because I can bring money into the studio that way ^_^

One of my favourite quotes is "Some people hang their art, I wear mine." This quote has stuck with me. I hope that one day I'll have many tattoos, each one with its own story and meaning. I currently have 6 tattoos!

As well as my chest piece I plan to get a dog tattoo, I have a cat on my left forearm (bellow), and want a matching dog on the other. I miss my dog Tess very much, so that will be for her, as my cat tattoo is for the kitty cats I've unluckily lost!

Photoshop!

Last night I was shown how to make your skin "perfect" on photoshop! I have just completed this one of me! I had been doing it another way, but it wasn't very good, and looked rather plastic. This method is much better as you can see from my lovely skin! I will have to post a step by step next time I edit a picture!

BATMAN!

NANANANANANA BATMAN!

I love Batman, he's aweshum!
I especially like Batman pants! I MUST have some! They're so cute ^_^

I also love batman artwork. There's some pretty cool stuff out there! I've seen loads of steampunk Batman, and 1950's style posters of Batman. All sorts of amazing stuff!

Batman costumes are sexy. I really want a Batgirl dress, so hawt!
The costume in this link (below) is nearly £1000!!! Crazy!

Dress up games

I'm a tad addicted to dress up games at the moment. I've always played them, just been doing it more recently. I always do them with things I would wear myself ^_^

Pink skinny jeans FTW!

This last one is pretty much me when I first dyed my hair pink! I have way to much time on my hands don't you agree?!

Taxidermy and skeletons

Taxidermy... So many people this is gross and creepy, but is that a bad thing? I think not! I think its the creepness that makes it so amazing. I've had quite a lot of cats, and always wanted to get them "stuffed" when they died.

Some pieces can be really cute, like this dog. I'm not a fan of chiwawa dogs, but I find this little guy adorable!

Taxidermy doesn't have to be all about stuffing animals, and gluing glass eyes on them. It can create amazing art. These jewellery pieces for example... They're so dark and beautiful! I would wear them! I have a thing for tiny skulls. So delicate and intricate!

This picture shows spheres created from tiny mouse skulls. Its amazing! Id want one as a lampshade! I doubt my boyfriend would be happy though. He isn't a fan of taxidermy and doesn't want me to get any pieces, which genuinely makes me sad! I love quirky, weird and strange. It makes the world a bit more interesting!

Halloween costumes!

So for Halloween this year, I'm going to a pirate themed party. My boyfriend plays in a "pirate rock band" where they dress as pirates and sing about the sea ( http://www.youtube.com/user/RepulsiveRapture ). His band are playing, and its in a pub run by a friend! I need a costume, and have been looking for some ideas, here's my favourite so far!
Its not your typical girl pirate costume. They're usually "sexy wench" costumes. Don't get me wrong, I love the cute dresses available, but I know that other people are going to be wearing them! My friends Mom runs a business hiring out costumes, and she has some amazing pieces! I was thinking of something like this one bellow, and dressing it up with a few "pirate" accessories!
I was thinking I could make one myself, or get my Mom to make me one out of old curtains or something, and go as a voodoo queen, like Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean!

I've still got some time before the party to decide... I'll be sure to post pics!
